I am the Director of the Developmental Learning Lab at Purdue University. My past research has been on child language acquisition, including how infants perceive speech, learn words and come to understand the meaning of grammar. My current research examines the connections between language acquisition and learning in other areas of expertise, including how undergraduate students learn the principles of psychology and how children might learn reading and math skills from iPads and other electronic media. I’ve also been instrumental in the revision of some sections of PSY120 into a hybrid format. I also teach PSY235: Child Psychology.
