Maymester in China

This summer, I took a group of students to mainland China to study cross cultural development. The blog for that trip is located at purduestudyabroadchina2014.wordpress.com

In short, it was an amazing experience, we saw children of all ages and explored the many similarities and differences between how children learn, play, and develop in China and the United States. I’m also looking forward to seeing how my students develop as they experience study abroad, as this can be a transformative experience.

Meanwhile, pictured below is the first time I went abroad (to Germany). I’ll never forget the wonder and power of realizing that not everyone does things the way we do…

And that’s a good thing!
